Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Business Development manager (BDM) with previous sales experience, an international outlook and a strong technical background, with the ambition to drive commercial growth in strategic sectors such as energy, nuclear, aerospace, and cryogenics. The BDM will play a key role in market mapping, developing new B2B clients in Italy and Europe, and gathering industry insights to support strategic investment decisions.

Responsibilities
- Develop new markets and business opportunities within strategic clusters (energy, nuclear, aerospace, cryogenics)
- Analyze and map target customers, market trends, and key players
- Active networking: attend industry trade shows and events and create synergies within relevant clusters
- Collect and share strategic market information with internal teams, contributing to innovation in the offering
- Collaborate across teams (technical, laboratories, sales, operations) to define complex proposals and tailor‑made solutions
- Support in drafting proposals, managing tenders, negotiating with clients, and framework agreements
- Prepare periodic reports and progress KPIs, with defined timelines and objectives
- Manage the commercial pipeline using advanced digital tools (CRM, Power BI, SharePoint)
- Promote a customer‑oriented culture
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree in economics, management, or related fields (e.g., Economics, Management, Marketing, Industrial Engineering) or proven commercial experience in complex B2B environments
- Solid experience in business development, including pipeline management, new client acquisition, negotiation, and contract closing in technical or industrial sectors
- Background in testing, metallurgy, composite materials, energy, nuclear, or aerospace considered a plus, not a primary requirement
- Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, including intercultural contexts
- Proactivity and operational autonomy: able to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Active listening and cross‑functional collaboration between technical, commercial, and operational teams
- Strategic mindset, precision, stress resilience, and goal orientation
- Fast learner, adaptable to evolving contexts, and highly initiative‑driven
- Problem‑solving attitude and effective priority management.
- Excellent command of digital tools (Microsoft Office, CRM – Dynamics, Power BI, SharePoint)
- Fluent English (minimum C1); additional languages are a plus (e.g., German, French, Spanish)
- Driving license and willingness to travel
