Business Analyst – Power BI

Within the Global BI Organization and under its governance, the Business Analyst – Power BI will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the BI development team. The mission is to collect and analyze business requirements, translate them into actionable insights, and design effective dashboards and reports using Power BI. The role requires strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and a solid background in Business Intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze and document requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for the BI development team.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support decision-making processes.
• Conduct data validation, testing and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of BI deliverables.
• Work closely with developers and project managers to support solution design, implementation and delivery.
• Contribute to the ideation, design and continuous improvement of BI solutions based on the Microsoft stack.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, supporting sprint planning and backlog refinement from a business perspective.
• Collaborate in proof of concepts and support the evaluation of new BI features or methodologies.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

• 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis within BI projects.
• Proven expertise in Power BI (report creation, dashboard design, DAX, data modeling).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of SQL for data extraction and validation.
• Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into BI solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).

Preferred

• Experience with the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Knowledge of data quality or data management practices.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud technologies.
• Experience in Agile methodology.
• Fluency in Italian (oral and written).
• Previous experience in the maritime shipping industry.
