Your role
As a Bulk Manager, you will play a key role in the Production team in our Segrate plant. You will report directly to the Production Director and will be responsible for manufacturing bulk of semi‑solid pharmaceutical products for topical use for all over the world, ensuring that the daily output complies with company policies and international regulations.
- Oversee and manage bulk production operations (weighing activities, bulk manufacturing and cleaning operations), ensuring compliance with LEO Pharma’s quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure the application of GMP standards in the Bulk department for all phases of production and staff coordination (gowning procedures, behavior, state of plants/equipment/premises, production processes).
- Ensure that all documentation relating to the management area is in line with GMP standards and all national and international regulations in force.
- Ensure that bulk processes are in line with registration dossiers as well as company and local and/or international standards.
- Coordinate resources and schedules to align production activities with business priorities.
- Coordinate collaborators training and qualification in order to ensure the correct application of GMP practices as well as safety practices.
- Foster collaboration and maintain clear communication within the department, with other internal departments and external areas when needed.
- Plan, implement and improve the bulk process safely, economically, efficiently and in compliance with quality standards.
- Manage the introduction of changes (e.g. new products, new plants) or process innovations in the Bulk department and, in any case, in collaboration with any other departments involved, ensuring the traceability of all the activities carried out.
- Ensure that the output of the Bulk department is in line with the agreed process times and production plans.
- Manage and monitor the department budget and performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, driving operational excellence across all production processes.
Your Qualifications
- Technical Scientific Degree (e.g., Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacy, or a diploma in Chemistry) is preferred.
- More than 5 years’ experience in Production, Quality, MSAT or similar function in the Pharma sector.
- At least 3 years with managerial and/or coordination roles.
- Excellent knowledge of the Italian language and a good command of the English language are required.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- In‑depth knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory quality requirements for production as well as HSE guideline and regulations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a talent for managing operational complexity while remaining results‑focused.
- Advanced competencies in team management, problem‑solving, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Your new team
As a Bulk Manager, you will join a collaborative and innovation‑driven team where each individual plays a key role in our operational success. You will work alongside colleagues from different functions, fostering a culture of partnership, inclusivity, and shared commitment to excellence. The Bulk department is spread over three floors and includes a weighing area and four automated semisolids manufacturing plants. We work with 16/5 or 24/5 shifts depending on the plant and year time period. The Bulk team consists of 20 employees organized into shift managers, weighing operators, and melters‑mixers operators.
