BU Director

As Business Unit Director – Retail in Italy, you will define and execute the BU strategy to drive profitable growth and ensure operational excellence across multiple logistics sites. You will own P&L and lead cross-functional teams to expand market presence while maintaining customer satisfaction. The role includes end-to-end logistics, capacity planning, cost optimization, and large-scale projects like site start-ups and automation. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to promote innovation and continuous improvement while shaping a high-performance, customer-centric culture. Define and implement the Retail BU strategy aligned with DHL Supply Chain objectives Lead end-to-end logistics operations across multiple locations (warehousing, distribution, value-added services) Ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and service excellence Manage capacity planning for seasonal peaks and fluctuating volumes Own full P&L accountability and manage operating budgets Drive cost optimization and ROI-focused initiatives Monitor financial KPIs and achieve performance targets Lead change management initiatives Drive growth through expansion of existing contracts Support commercial activities including solution design and business case development Strengthen and expand relationships with key customers and stakeholders Lead large-scale projects such as new site start-ups and automation initiatives Promote innovation, digitalization, and Lean/continuous improvement practices Lead a complex organization (Site Managers, Operations Managers, Key Account Managers) Build a high-performance, customer-centric culture Drive employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or similar) MBA or advanced degree is a plus At least 15+ years of professional experience with 8–10 years in senior leadership roles Extensive background in supply chain or manufacturing Proven experience managing multi-site/plant operations including people management Strong track record in P&L management and business development Experience leading large teams in complex customer environments Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities Expertise in operations management and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma/WCM) As Business Unit Director – Retail in Italy, you will define and execute the BU strategy to drive profitable growth and ensure operational e…
