Bid Manager – Optical Space Systems

Location: Vicenza (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Introduction

An innovative European space technology company is seeking a Bid Manager to support institutional and commercial space programmes. The organisation designs and manufactures high-precision optical systems for space and advanced scientific applications.


The Opportunity

You will manage the full proposal lifecycle across strategic bids, working closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams. This is a high-visibility role central to securing major programmes across space and high-tech sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination, preparation, and submission of institutional and commercial bids
  • Manage the full bidding lifecycle: bid analysis, customer interaction, drafting, validation, negotiation, and contractualisation
  • Ensure compliance with procurement rules, regulatory standards, and export requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical and commercial inputs
  • Oversee pricing logic, budgeting, and cost analysis
  • Maintain proposal and CRM databases
  • Contribute to process improvement and knowledge development


Essential Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years in proposal/bid management or sales engineering
  • Experience working within the space sector
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications and risk management
  • Solid pricing and cost modelling capability
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent bids
  • Experience with national/international tenders
