PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Benches Planning Manager owns the worldwide planning of Powertrain test benches and leads the team of Technical Planning specialists. Ensures full consistency, feasibility and readiness of all experimental activities (Development, Durability, Reliability, Homologation) across global sites. Guarantees that each test request is feasible, correctly prepared, fully validated and aligned with the product development plan, maximizing occupancy, efficiency and minimizing external activities. Oversees the whole bench‑readiness workflow up to the final Setup Verification & Sign‑off.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own WW PWT test bench planning and ensure alignment to project validation plans.
• Lead, coordinate and mentor the team of Technical Planning specialists.
• Monitor and confirm feasibility, constraints, risks and resource needs for all test requests (Development, Durability, Reliability, Homologation).
• Oversee requirement consolidation (SOR‑like) and ensure completeness of technical, safety, instrumentation and automation inputs.
• Ensure the creation and maintenance of Test Preparation Plans, assigning responsibilities and synchronizing execution teams.
• Coordinate all bench‑setup activities (mechanical, fluidic, electrical, instrumentation, automation).
• Ensure correct implementation of homologation‑specific setups, cycles, configurations and boundary conditions.
• Monitor preparation progress, remove roadblocks, escalate issues and guarantee on‑schedule readiness.
• Perform the final Setup Verification & Sign‑off ensuring completeness of evidence and compliance.
• Communicate bench‑readiness status to Product Engineering and support Planning/Scheduling with feasibility, capacity and lead‑time inputs.
• Maximize test‑bench occupancy and efficiency, minimizing outsourcing.
REQUIREMENTS
• Solid understanding of engine and vehicle test benches, instrumentation and automation.
• Solid expertise in test‑bench operations (PWT focus) and test planning.
• Strong leadership capability in managing technical coordination teams.
• Deep knowledge of Development/Durability/Reliability/Homologation test processes.
• Ability to interpret and validate test requirements (SOR) and planning dependencies.
• Strong cross‑functional coordination skills (Instrumentation, Automation, Setup, Prototype, Product Engineering).
