Job Description
The Behavioral Health Specialist plays a crucial role in providing culturally sensitive, ethical, and confidential care to individuals facing medical and behavioral health challenges in a primary care environment. This position involves not only managing these diverse health conditions but also the development and implementation of wellness programs aimed at supporting and empowering patients. This position is based in Israel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive behavioral health diagnosis and treatment services across a diverse spectrum of conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicidal ideation, and various neuropsychiatric disorders like psychotic disorders.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic behavioral health conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers.
- Assist, refer and collaborate with onsite physicians who may prescribe and manage medications.
- Facilitate referrals or transfers to local healthcare providers and facilities.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of behavioral health assessments, interventions, and treatment plans in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Ensure that behavioral health services are provided in a manner that respects the culture, confidentiality and privacy of patients and adheres to ethical standards of care.
- Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Experience Required:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in short term, solution focused counselling with individuals, children, families, and couples.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with psychotherapy groups is preferred.
Education Required:
- Current and unrestricted license (LPC, LMFT, LMHC, LISW, LCSW, or similar) or authorizing document country of origin.
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or equivalent.
- Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Valid Passport from country of record with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a required security clearance. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
- Must be able to relocate to Israel for the duration of the project.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
