BARTENDER


We are seeking a passionate Bartender to lead the bar operations within our elegant and welcoming bar, nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside at Tenuta Toscana.

The ideal candidate will embody elegance, creativity, and a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, offering our international clientele an exceptional bar experience that celebrates both innovation and the timeless traditions of Italian mixology, coffee culture, and tea service.

This position reports directly to the Head Bartender, working closely to uphold the highest standards of service, team leadership, and operational excellence.



Main duties and responsibilities


  • Oversee the daily operations of the bar to ensure seamless, high-end service and a consistently elevated guest experience
  • Ensure impeccable service standards and beverage presentation, in line with Tenuta Toscana luxury brand values and hospitality guidelines
  • Curate and serve a refined beverage offering that includes signature cocktails, premium spirits, artisanal non-alcoholic drinks, high-quality coffee and specialty teas, with attention to local ingredients and guest preferences
  • Maintain expert knowledge of coffee and tea preparation techniques, ensuring consistently high standards in espresso-based drinks, infusions, and tea service rituals
  • Anticipate guest preferences with discretion, grace, and attention to detail, creating bespoke drink experiences and addressing inquiries or concerns with professionalism
  • Maintain a warm, elegant, and welcoming bar atmosphere, ensuring the space is always impeccably clean, organized, and visually aligned with the identity of the property
  • Supervise and support bar team members in daily operations, ensuring consistency in performance, quality, and service delivery
  • Lead by example in the training and mentoring of bartenders and barbacks through hands-on guidance and daily coaching
  • Assist in scheduling, break management, and team coordination to guarantee efficient shift coverage and flow of service
  • Support inventory control, including stock orders, product rotation, and warehouse withdrawals, ensuring proper par levels and waste reduction


  • Ensure the correct use, cleaning, and maintenance of bar tools, coffee machines, tea equipment, and glassware, promoting a culture of care and responsibility
  • Enforce and adhere to all HACCP, hygiene, and safety standards, maintaining full compliance with internal procedures and legal regulations
  • Contribute to the bar’s financial performance by controlling costs, monitoring inventory, minimizing waste, and promoting effective upselling techniques
  • Foster a collaborative, professional, and positive work environment where excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement are encouraged
  • Serve as a role model in professionalism, hospitality, and bartending excellence, inspiring others through your knowledge, attitude, and personal style
  • Uphold and promote the highest standards of ethical behaviour, respect, and courtesy in all guest and team interactions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding guest preferences, team matters, and proprietary resort information, ensuring that privacy and discretion are always respected



Requirements


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bartending or similar role within a luxury hospitality environment, ideally in a 5-star resort, hotel, or exclusive venue
  • A degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus
  • Experience in managing and motivating a bar team to deliver exceptional service
  • A passion for mixology and creating unique, high-quality beverages, as well as a strong knowledge of coffee culture and tea service, ensuring a refined guest experience
  • In-depth knowledge of premium spirits, cocktails, and artisanal beverages, with a focus on local and Italian products, including fine wines and liqueurs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Italian. A third language is considered a plus
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to anticipate guest preferences and deliver a personalized experience with grace and professionalism
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to support the bar operations, inventory control, and staff scheduling efficiently
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the hospitality industry
  • Familiarity with bar management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and basic computer programs
  • Impeccable grooming and a professional appearance that aligns with the luxury standards of a 5-star environment

This research is addressed to candidates of both genders with reference to Italian Law 903/77 and Law 125/91.

This position is based in Tuscany. Availability of staff accommodation upon request. Candidates should have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
