Bar Manager

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bar Manager role based at San Clemente Palace Venice in Venice. The Bar Manager oversees daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and consistent service standards across all bar outlets. Responsibilities include supervising bar staff, organizing schedules, leading pre-shift briefings, and providing on-the-job coaching to maintain high performance and product knowledge. The role manages beverage inventory, orders and controls stock, monitors costs, and supports menu development in collaboration with the Food & Beverage leadership. The Bar Manager also handles guest feedback, coordinates with other hotel departments for events and functions, ensures compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, and contributes to revenue growth through upselling and promotional activities.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, personalized, and memorable guest experiences.
• Solid Food & Beverage knowledge, including bar operations, mixology basics, product knowledge, and quality control.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with guests, team members, and cross-functional departments.
• Experience in training and coaching bar or Food & Beverage teams to maintain service standards and operational consistency.
• Sales-oriented mindset with skills in upselling, promotion of signature drinks, and support of revenue-generating initiatives.
• Previous bar or restaurant management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, oversee inventories, and handle basic financial reporting related to bar performance.
• Knowledge of local health, safety, and hygiene regulations applicable to Food & Beverage operations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills, especially Italian, are an advantage.
• Proficiency in Micros is a must.
