For a long-term project with a major automotive OEM, we are looking for an Automotive Linux & Defect Analysis Engineer to support the development and validation of next-generation vehicle platforms.

The selected candidate will be responsible for defect analysis and troubleshooting activities, working closely with software development teams to investigate issues, reproduce bugs, analyze CAN traces, and support root cause identification in complex embedded environments.

We are looking for a proactive engineer with automotive software experience, strong Linux knowledge, and a passion for problem-solving.


Main Activities

  • Defect management and issue tracking
  • Bug reproduction and root cause analysis
  • CAN trace analysis and troubleshooting
  • Support developers during debugging and bug-fixing activities
  • Analysis of Linux kernel and system logs
  • Support software integration activities on embedded Linux platforms
  • Support on the development of Linux applications
  • Troubleshooting and validation of Yocto-based systems


Requirements

  • Experience in automotive software validation, testing, or defect management
  • Good knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Strong Linux trouble-shooting and debugging skills
  • Experience with log analysis and issue investigation
  • Understanding of embedded systems architecture
  • Programming skills (C/C++ , Python , Bash, or similar)
  • Experience with Yocto-based environments is a strong plus


Languages

  • Good communication skills in English, written and spoken
  • Italian level C1
