PeoItaly , on behalf of its client – a global leader in the construction machinery sector – is seeking an Attachment Application Engineer to become the key technical expert for integrating hydraulic attachments with excavator, wheel loader and skid steer loader product lines across Europe.

As Application Engineer – Europe , you will be the central link between:

  • Engineering teams at global headquarters
  • The European R&D Center
  • European product management and marketing
  • Dealer network and end customers


Your mission is to engineer optimal machine–attachment solutions that solve customer challenges, enhance machine versatility, and support sales growth across Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer application requirements (demolition, recycling, landscaping, material handling, etc.) and recommend the best machine–attachment combinations.
  • Perform hydraulic system calculations (flow, pressure, peak power) to ensure compatibility with various attachments (breakers, grapples, augers, tilt rotators, etc.).
  • Create and manage technical documentation: hydraulic interface specifications, mounting bracket concepts (in collaboration with design teams), installation guidelines.
  • Lead validation and testing of machine–attachment combinations, ensuring performance, safety and reliability meet European regulations and customer expectations.
  • Act as the highest-level technical reference for the European dealer network and key end-users on attachment integration, troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for internal sales teams and dealer sales/service personnel.
  • Provide on-site support for complex installations and critical field issues when required.
  • Represent the “Voice of the European Customer” within Product Management and R&D during the product development process.
  • Research and analyze European market trends, competitor solutions and emerging attachment technologies.
  • Provide structured feedback and requirements to influence future hydraulic system design and control software (e.g. programmable flow settings) for excavators, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders.
  • Support the sales team on key account projects, providing technical expertise to secure major deals.
  • Contribute to application stories, case studies and technical sales materials (videos, datasheets, configurator inputs).
  • Represent the company at major European trade fairs (e.g. Bauma, Intermat), conducting technical demonstrations and customer consultations.
  • Annual travel to the company’s global headquarters (approx. 2–3 months per year) for technical alignment and training.
  • Regular travel within Europe and the UK (up to 50%) for customer visits, field data collection and local market support.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in application engineering, product support or design within construction machinery, agricultural machinery or heavy equipment.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, electro-hydraulic controls and their application in excavators, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders.
  • Proven experience in integrating hydraulic attachments (e.g. hammers, shears, grapples).
  • Familiarity with European machinery directives and technical standards (e.g. CE marking).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and at least one other major European language (e.g. German, Italian, French, Spanish, Polish).
  • Experience working in an international, cross-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design review.
  • Hands-on experience with machine operation and/or diagnostics.
  • Existing network within the European construction equipment or attachment dealer ecosystem.
