At Bryden Wood, we are expanding our team in Milan to work on large scale projects for the biggest names in “Big Tech” and Pharmaceutical sectors.


We are looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical delivery of our Data Centre and Pharmaceutical projects. THE ROLE


You will be the mechanical lead of our projects in Italy as well as key member on other international projects, working closely with all the other disciplines (Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability) and clients to deliver innovative designs.

  • Lead mechanical technical design (HVAC, Cooling, Piping, ventilation) for all project stages (From Concept to Construction) including carrying out calculations, concept development, Project coordination, H&S and Risk management and project delivery.
  • Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring team cohesion toward project goals.
  • Identify and specify appropriate mechanical equipment and components to meet project objectives, considering energy efficiency, reliability, redundancy, and system compatibility.
  • Strong understanding of critical cooling systems, variable flow closed-circuit water systems, and equipment selection.
  • Work concurrently on multiple projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Use a solution-based approach to solve complex thermal and fluid dynamic problems.
  • Ensure full compliance with Italian regulations.
  • Produce and sign off official submissions to local authorities.
  • Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures, and risk management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and liaise with senior management on project escalations.


WHAT WE NEED


  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must-Have: Deep knowledge of Italian regulations.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, preferable with previous experience in Data Centre or Pharmaceutical projects in Italy.
  • Experience in producing, delivering and possibly signing off official submissions to local authorities.
  • Language: Full professional fluency in spoken and written Italian and English .
  • Project management: Proven experience in mechanical project management, with the ability to provide autonomous leadership and coordinate small teams of engineers
  • Revit & Navisworks: Competent in the use of Revit and Navisworks
