For our Client, a multinational leading pharmaceutical company, we are searching for:

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - GOVERNMENT & POLICY RELATIONS

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Personal accountability for managing relations with political entities at the policy level (Ministers of Health, Economic Development, Education and Research, Economy, MPs, including selected top regional government members), partnering with BUs / Market Access and with P&C function at EUCAN level.
  2. Leading top policy projects such as workshops, events at the national level, research activities in the policy field, public-private partnerships, and training initiatives.
  3. Implementing projects aimed at boosting the company's reputation at the policy level, collaborating with Communication and the company's Foundation.

The position interacts with key policy players at the national level, influencing legislative acts (e.g., laws, decrees, questions raised at Parliament). It involves sharing strategies and objectives with the Executive Director and has full autonomy in activity implementation.

The role requires finding concrete solutions at both funding and legislative levels to effectively transform proposals into feasible solutions. Skills needed include negotiation, problem-solving, teamwork, and empathy.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in political science, law, public health, natural sciences, or another relevant field.
  • Significant experience (at least 5 years) in pharmaceutical companies and/or lobbying firms.
  • Ability to establish and manage strong partnerships and advise senior leadership.
  • Leadership skills with responsibility for organizational issues and proactive planning.
  • Innovative thinking to find solutions in resource-scarce, conflicting interest environments.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to summarize complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to prepare talking points and concise briefing memos.
  • Diplomacy, discretion, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.
