Job Description
A global leader in professional services to the Data Centre sector is expanding its operations in Italy. Due to continued growth and strategic project wins, we are recruiting an experienced Associate Director – Cost Management to join our Data Centre team.
With a market-leading client portfolio and the opportunity to lead high-profile, large-scale data centre developments, this is a pivotal leadership role within a fast-growing business unit.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a Cost Management team, ensuring full delivery of responsibilities and performance standards.
- Take a senior role interfacing with clients, stakeholders, and consultants across all project stages.
- Provide detailed cost planning and estimating services, including preparation and presentation of final estimates.
- Manage all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender list preparation, tender analysis, reporting, and contractual documentation.
- Oversee post-contract cost management, including change control and cost variance management.
- Conduct cost checks and issue payment recommendations; ensure accurate and timely valuation processes.
- Produce and present monthly cost reports to clients and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in cost management, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects.
- Broad expertise across all cost management phases: planning, estimating, pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
- Proven experience preparing detailed Cost Management estimates and reports.
- Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
- Strong understanding of cost components (labour, plant, materials), cashflow forecasting, commitments, and total project cost control.
- Exposure to business development activities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English required; Italian language skills preferred.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and modern digital cost management tools.
Salary: €120K P/A plus 20% bonus
