Job Description
The Associate Consultant supports multiple clients across various industries, including healthcare, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work tailored to each client’s needs. Core responsibilities include handling media and press office activities to support client deliverables and business development initiatives.
The role involves close collaboration with internal and external teams, coordinating client meetings and events, and managing multiple projects simultaneously—including international assignments—under the guidance of senior team members. Working within a dynamic and collaborative environment, the Associate Consultant will engage with global teams and clients across diverse markets.
Beyond day-to-day client support, the role offers valuable exposure to strategic activities including crisis management support, development of creative campaigns, and brand awareness initiatives. This provides the opportunity to work across the full spectrum of corporate communication—from tactical execution to strategic planning—while gaining hands-on experience in managing high-stakes situations and building compelling brand narratives.
The Associate Consultant will be supported by daily access to cutting-edge AI solutions and platforms, including proprietary tools, positioning them at the forefront of the evolving communication industry.
DEMONSTRATING SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE AS AN ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT (Expected at full performance level):

  • Carry out press office activities and support crisis activities
  • Analyze media coverage, industry trends, and regulatory developments in different sectors Prepare reports and insights for clients
  • Contribute to the development of communication strategies and plans tailored to the clients
  • Identifies ways for expanding client engagement and presents ideas to senior staff members
  • Drafts complete proposals for client work showing an understanding of APCO’s tools, structure and service offerings; oversees the deliverable production process
  • Participates actively in internal and client meetings, offering knowledgeable observations and suggestions
  • Is able to maintain reliable contact with clients in providing service
  • Reviews the work of junior colleagues to ensure the highest work quality
  • Proactively identifies external meetings and trainings to attend to build sector knowledge and contacts service
Qualifications
  • 2 - 4 years relevant experience in strategic communications. Healthcare communications experience is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with local (Italian) teams and international colleagues with a good level of English, speaking and writing
  • Have proven knowledge of the Italian media landscape and relationships with Italian journalists
  • Good writing and analytical skills, and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
