Deliveroo HOP

Launched in September 2021, Deliveroo HOP is Deliveroo's speedy grocery delivery service. Our mission is to deliver groceries to customers around the world in as little as 10 minutes, from the weekly shop to last-minute dinner parties or late-night snacks. Working with trusted grocers, Deliveroo HOP promises to bring customers the very best products at lightning speed.

The team behind Deliveroo HOP is building a network of stores across Milan, Italy, and other markets. Each store is staffed with trained personnel to manage operations and pick and pack orders swiftly, with Deliveroo's 100,000-strong rider network completing all deliveries.

We are looking for individuals with exceptional drive and entrepreneurial spirit to join the Deliveroo HOP team and help us build the leading speedy grocery delivery service. This is an exciting opportunity within the broader Deliveroo organization — we're only just getting started!

The Role

The Assistant Warehouse Manager will oversee a wide range of tasks at the Deliveroo HOP site. You will be responsible for the site in the absence of the site manager, ensuring smooth shift operations, including dispatch, KPI delivery, and liaising with riders. A key aspect of this role is your ability to step into any on-site role as needed.

This role is initially fixed-term for 12 months.

What you'll be doing

• Driving KPIs and profitability
• Conducting weekly warehouse audits to ensure safety standards
• Performing monthly Health and Safety audits
• Maintaining site standards daily
• Collaborating with the Warehouse Manager to uphold high standards
• Managing a team of 4 or more
• Handling opening and closing duties
• Logging maintenance issues and coordinating with contractors
• Managing stock and orders
• Resolving customer queries and live issues

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety and health & safety compliance
• First Aid training (training provided if needed)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to meet targets and control stock
• Hospitality management experience of at least 2 years
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Slack
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Warehouse experience is a plus but not required
