Area Director – Milan

As Area Director in Milan, you’ll lead the team, build the client relationships and shape the commercial direction of the operation with the support of a global network behind you.

Genuine ownership of a fast growing region and its future

You’ll lead the development and delivery of the Milan office business plan, aligned to regional objectives, but yours to shape. From staffing and recruitment to project delivery and culture, the success of the office sits with you.

Client relationships that define the business

You’ll build and strengthen relationships with clients and partners, identify emerging opportunities and represent Black & White at the highest level including speaking opportunities at industry events. This is a role with real external profile.

Commercial responsibility with real weight

Project financial performance, fee forecasting, risk management and profitability all sit within your remit. You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions that matter, backed by the systems and support of a well-established global business.

Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team

You’ll lead a team of line managers who are in turn developing their own teams of engineers giving you genuine reach in shaping talent and culture across the office. Mentoring and developing people is central to how success is measured at this level.

Essential skills & Experience

• Significant prior experience of multi-disciplinary people leadership at a senior level
• Proven track record leading complex MEP design delivery, ideally including data centre applications
• Experience managing projects internationally, with strong commercial and financial acumen
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards it, with MCIBSE/MIET accreditation
• Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline
• Strong working knowledge of relevant design software and applicable legal, regulatory and Health &Safety standards
