Job Details
Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is launching a brand new aquapark and open water swimming experience at Hinchingbrooke Country Park and is looking for confident, hands‑on supervisors to help bring it to life. This is an opportunity to be involved from day one, shaping how the operation runs and setting the tone for an exceptional customer experience.
About The Role
As an Aquapark Supervisor you will be the on‑site lead during your shift. Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly and as planned
- Guiding and supporting lifeguards and aquapark staff, coordinating sessions and monitoring water safety
- Responding to customer queries, incidents or any operational issue that arises
- Managing rotas, completing safety checks and keeping accurate records of all procedures
- Maintaining a positive, safety‑first culture while creating a fantastic experience for visitors
About You
You are a natural leader who stays calm under pressure and makes clear decisions even when busy. You have:
- Experience in a water‑based, leisure or safety‑focused environment, with previous supervisory or lead roles
- A commitment to safety and the ability to foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers and team members
- Strong organisational skills, reliability and the ability to juggle priorities across operational tasks and emergency responses
- A willingness to work outdoors, be part of a close‑knit team and take ownership of your shift
- Motivation and proactivity to make an impact, whether you are already qualified or looking to develop your skills
Training
- 13 – 15 July for Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) Qualification
- 16 and 17 July for Aquapark Module
OWL Course Requirements
- Be 16‑years‑old or over at the time of assessment
- Be competent and confident in open water
- Be able to submerge under water confidently
- Be able to swim at least 400 metres in a pool or open water, continuously on your front and with urgency
Other Information
All candidates must undergo a satisfactory DBS check. An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and cannot provide a Certificate of Sponsorship for any role.
