Sella Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) is the business division of Sella Group specializing in corporate finance transactions, including M&A advisory, corporate bond issuance, debt structuring, leveraged finance, and venture capital (VC) / corporate venture capital (CVC). Our portfolio includes over 30 ventures, such as Satispay, Qonto, AideXa, Young Platform, and Smava.
We are seeking an Analyst with prior experience in the Venture Capital industry, either as an Investor or Operator, to join our team.
As an Analyst, you will oversee, in collaboration with the team, all venture deals of the Sella Group, including investments by Banca Sella and Fabrick. You will manage the complete investment process, from deal sourcing to portfolio management.
Main responsibilities :
- Scout, evaluate, structure, and execute VC / CVC transactions for the Group.
- Analyze industry trends, monitor market developments, and define investment themes and theses.
- Engage with senior leaders on business strategy and product roadmaps; summarize investment priorities and focus areas.
- Conduct due diligence on new investments, including business analysis, industry thesis, competitive landscape, business or pricing models, financial modeling, and deal structuring.
- Collaborate with open innovation specialists within the Group to leverage synergies with CVC investments.
- Report periodically on VC / CVC portfolio performance to the Investment Committee.
- Participate in startups and VC events, build and nurture the Sella ecosystem and network, and identify new investment opportunities to strengthen Sella’s positioning.
Key requirements
- 6-12 months of experience in a fast-paced environment such as venture capital, startups, scaleups, or strategy consultancy. Fintech sector exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency in English (preferably with international education or work experience) and Italian is mandatory.
- Knowledge of VC dynamics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to produce clear reports.
- Strong command of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to connect with diverse personalities and work well within a team.
- Enthusiasm for technology and innovation.
- Strong analytical and structuring skills, with a tech background considered an advantage.
- A proactive, organized individual with a passion for startups and a strong work ethic.
