Scope of Work
The AI Hub Design and Engagement Manager will serve as the senior leader managing the design of new programmes, responsible for coordinating and ensuring accountability for partnerships and program conceptualization. They will identify key trends across stakeholders, build programmatic understanding, and support the AI Hub Director in managing governance groups and communications.
Lead AI Hub Programme Design & Engagement Strategy
- Lead the design and execution of research and development for AI Hub Sustainable Development Programmes, combining local ecosystem development with new partnerships.
- Build processes, methodologies, and implementation approaches for scaling partnerships with G7, Africa, and the 14 partner countries.
- Support Italy, G7 countries, and African government partners in fostering new partnership contributions.
- Contribute to UNDP’s ability to spot partnership trends across the network.
Lead AI Hub Programmes Partnerships Implementation & Scale
- Work closely with the AI Hub Head of Programme to develop and execute partnership strategies, sourcing, and building new AI ideas.
- Design and pilot new approaches for connecting stakeholders to harness AI opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Digital, AI and Innovation Partnerships team and Rome Centre Partnerships team.
AI Hub Programmes Partnerships And Management
- Lead the organization and engagement with the Executive Steering Group and Private Sector Advisory Groups.
- Supervise the AI Hub Campaigns Specialist and manage partnership expectations and advocacy.
Advocacy & Thought Leadership and Knowledge Management
- Design campaigns to communicate AI Hub’s work and engage target audiences.
- Support the AI Hub Director in global forums and high-level discussions.
- Manage stakeholder events and contribute to external networks and communities of practice.
Institutional Arrangement
The incumbent will report directly to the AI Hub Director.

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Design, Business Administration, Engineering, IT Management, Education, or a related technical field.
- OR bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience.
- 7 years (master’s) or 9 years (bachelor’s) of relevant experience in AI, digital transformation, or sustainable development, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Required Skills
- Leading impactful multi‑stakeholder initiatives and building strategic partnerships in global development and technology sectors.
- Designing partnerships and initiatives with the private sector.
- Deep understanding of AI infrastructure, data governance, and digital public infrastructure, especially in LDCs and Africa.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic vision, stakeholder engagement, and influence on global policy.
