Accounting and Reporting Specialist

What will you work on?

The Finance Analyst will ensure accurate and timely reporting, manage statutory and accounting processes for Spin Master, and contribute to monthly and annual management reporting, forecast & planning, and cost‑centre variance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end journal entries for the general ledger (excluding accounts receivable, accounts payable and intracompany entries) for Italy.
• Create and review monthly management accounts, analysis files, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and management reporting.
• Prepare and review P&L market reporting and sales reports for the sales and management teams.
• Conduct regular cost‑centre reviews with business unit leaders, helping maintain departmental operational costs within budget, especially marketing and sales accruals.
• Assist with budget/forecast submission and preparation of overhead budgets in collaboration with business unit leaders for Italy.
• Review month‑end G&A overhead reports and comment on performance against objectives.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cash‑flow forecasts for Italy and perform variance analyses.
• Reconcile accounts for Italy entities on a monthly basis and review with the Finance Manager.
• Calculate sales agent commissions monthly.
• Prepare VAT documentation, LIPE declaration, and CONAI declaration.
• Prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with local GAAP.
• Identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
• Support the upgrade of SAP to the latest version and implementation of related ShERPa projects in Italy, and assist with other Spin Master projects across Europe.
• Partner with Italian management teams to interpret financial data, provide ad‑hoc reports for directors, and liaise with external tax advisors and auditors regarding annual statutory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a mid‑to‑large sized company, preferably in consumer goods or retail.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and Italian OIC.
• Proficient in MS Excel and SAP.
• Independent, analytical thinker with strong research and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and Italian.
