About the Job

The Polymer Specialties business manufactures and supplies essential ingredients and sustainable solutions for the polymer industry. These are organic peroxides, co-catalysts (metal alkyls), and other specialty additives used in the production and processing of polymers. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for the sales of Polymer Specialties products across Europe and Africa, driving consolidation and growth in polymer‑producing and fine chemicals markets while hunting for new business opportunities. The role reports to Yoav Dienes, based in Barcelona, Spain.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize total value creation for the business, maintain and grow the business within the guidelines provided by commercial management.
  • Develop and nurture relationships at multiple levels and disciplines with existing and new customers to optimize value and capture relevant market information.
  • Frequently visit customers, distributors and relevant industry events.
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders and build an effective network.
  • Hunt for new business opportunities and manage these in CRM.
  • Execute the pricing plan and apply the tiered service level policy.
  • Monitor the order‑to‑cash process together with customer service and provide accurate monthly sales forecasts to support production planning.
  • Execute the sales channel strategy.
  • Travel within Europe and Africa for approximately 50% of your time.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 to 3 years of proven commercial experience in a business‑to‑business environment.
  • Excellent relationship building and hunting skills with a balance between relationship management and acquisition.
  • Ambition to work in a technical sales environment; knowledge of the polymer/chemical industry preferred.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry or engineering.
  • Fluency in English and Italian; knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.
  • Take ownership and be a committed self‑starter.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in a complex environment.
  • Well organized with strong time‑management skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills and a commercial attitude.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic team player.
