Access Integration/Design Technical Director

Location: Rome, Italy

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end project management including project planning, project schedule, budget planning, project implementation, project KPI (Revenue/Order/Cost) control and final delivery of projects to meet customer expectations within timeline, quality and budget.
  • Overall project management including customer relationship and vendor/supplier management.
  • Delivery of access network elements for primary operators in Italy after the validation phase.
  • Coordination with internal and/or partners for delivering access network projects to customers.
  • Occasional support for access network products maintenance.
  • Responsible for equipment testing (PVV/PQR) trial project (FOA) and customer training.
  • Responsible for delivery (installing and commissioning MSAN/DSLAM/OLT/ONT).
  • Define technical guidelines and project milestones, monitoring KPI.
  • Service cost analysis of the project and service revenue estimation and monitoring.
  • Technical customer interface for access network element functionalities and implementation in the network.
  • Define delivery process for optical access I&C up to acceptance respecting plan fulfilment according to customer requirements.
  • Define LLD/HLD guidelines for rollout of access network elements and links; installation and commissioning documentation guides.
  • Design and integration activities management in terms of scheduling productivity and completion. Identify issues and provide resolution.
  • Legacy equipment or technology migration (ATM decommissioning, swap legacy OLT to new OLTs).
  • Subcontractor management.
  • Technical overall management of live network issues and request for change handling.
  • Governance meeting to update delivery status, identify issues/risks and provide resolution plan.
  • Testing access network elements and scenarios according to customer network requirements: scenario discussion, test case/list preparation, test execution, anomaly/bug verification, R&D discussion and resolution plan.
  • Cost analysis: service cost estimation and service revenue estimation/monitoring and review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Telecommunications/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or another related field of study.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in implementing and maintaining access network products (MSAN/DSLAM/OLT/ONT).
  • Good knowledge of GPON and xDSL technology with focus on protocols such as PPPoE, DHCP, ADSL, ADPL, 2SHDSL, H.248, VDSL and vectoring.
  • ATM/PSTN commissioning and decommissioning experience.
  • Proficiency in GPON (T-Cont, DBA, OMCI service configuration, etc.).
  • Experience with OTDR centralized solution.
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, VLAN.
  • Basic knowledge of TDM and ATM switching systems.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Autonomous, strong learning ability and team cooperation skills.
