Academic Affairs Coordinator

CEA CAPA Education Abroad seeks an Academic Affairs Coordinator in the Florence Study Center. The Coordinator supports students and faculty in program preparation and daily delivery, working closely with the Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs to plan, reserve, and sometimes accompany onsite field studies, track course costs, and edit syllabi.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs to manage academic records, learning management systems (add/drop, attendance) and syllabus & course logistics checks.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and IT to ensure proper functionality of classroom technology.
  • Assist in training, supporting, and troubleshooting faculty and students on Canvas, the Online UNH Library, and Salesforce.
  • Help present regular faculty meetings to keep faculty informed of policy changes, expectations, and new systems, fostering open discussion.

Faculty Support

  • Disburse course fund monies to professors for site visits, guest speakers, and field trips; ensure accurate monthly expense reporting.
  • Be available for visiting faculty to assist with queries and difficulties during custom programs.
  • Occasionally proctor exams.

Student Support

  • Inform professors about approved academic accommodations and support their roll‑out.
  • Provide assistance to students facing academic difficulties during the session.
  • Assist the Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs in monitoring student progress and intervene with students showing problematic behaviors or attendance.
  • Support staff handling escalated health & safety situations and participate in the Emergency Phone rotation when employed full‑time.

What Makes a Great Candidate

  • BA in any field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • Fluency in English and Italian; authorized to work in Italy.
  • Knowledge of Florence’s cultural offerings and learning opportunities.
  • Previous firsthand study abroad experience and experience working with study abroad programs.
  • Enthusiasm for studying abroad and international education.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and internet proficiency).
