ROLE
The Junior Project Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager and supports the operational coordination and day-to-day management of ADIC’s portfolio of European and national research projects. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from proposal preparation to project implementation, reporting, financial monitoring and project closure. It also supports dissemination, communication and stakeholder engagement activities in collaboration with researchers, project managers, work package leaders, consortium partners, administrative offices and CMCC’s Communication Office. The mission is to contribute to the effective implementation, visibility and impact of ADIC’s research projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, institutional procedures and CMCC’s strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES The Junior Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager with:
Project management and coordination: supporting planning, coordination and monitoring of European and national research projects.
Monitoring project timelines, milestones, deliverables, deadlines and resource allocation.
Supporting budget monitoring, expenditure tracking and financial reporting.
Contributing to the preparation of project management deliverables, technical reports and financial documentation.
Supporting compliance with contractual, legal, institutional and funding requirements.
Maintaining accurate project documentation and supporting day-to-day administration.
Supporting project reviews, audits and monitoring activities.
Coordinating day-to-day interactions with researchers, internal teams, consortium partners, donors and funding bodies.
Supporting pre-award activities, including proposal preparation, budget development and project design.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of project management processes within ADIC.
COMMUNICATION, DISSEMINATION AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Planning and implementing dissemination, communication and engagement activities.
Developing and maintaining project communication tools and channels, including websites and online platforms.
Preparing, publishing and updating content for project websites and digital channels, including news, events and results.
Managing project social media activities in coordination with CMCC’s Communication Office.
Preparing communication materials such as presentations, factsheets, newsletters and visual content.
Coordinating inputs from researchers and partners to ensure timely dissemination of activities and results.
Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement activities.
Organising and promoting project events, workshops, meetings and webinars.
Contributing to public deliverables, reports and other documentation related to dissemination and communication.
Monitoring communication and dissemination activities, collecting indicators and supporting evidence for reporting.
Ensuring compliance with communication, visibility and branding requirements of European and national funding programmes.
Supporting ADIC's broader communication, dissemination and outreach activities.
REQUIREMENTS Essential
Master’s degree in project management, communication, economics, political science, international relations, social sciences, environmental sciences, digital media or another relevant field.
2–4 years of professional experience in project management, project support, communication, dissemination or outreach activities, preferably within European and/or national research projects.
Experience in supporting project administration, reporting, budget monitoring and compliance.
Experience in communication and dissemination activities within research, academic, institutional or project-based environments.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prepare clear and effective written and visual communication materials for different audiences.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Very good command of Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
Proactive attitude, attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
Desirable / Additional assets
Experience with Horizon Europe or previous EU Framework Programmes.
Experience in research organisations, universities or innovation centres.
Experience in supporting proposal preparation and budgeting.
Familiarity with project management, financial reporting and website management tools.
Experience in managing project websites, online platforms and social media channels.
Knowledge of consortium management, donor relations and stakeholder engagement.
Basic graphic design and digital communication skills.
Interest in climate science, digital innovation, artificial intelligence, data science or high-performance computing.
Knowledge of Italian language will be considered an asset.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Position advertised internally and externally.
Based at the CMCC Lecce office.
Contract: Coordinated and Continuous Collaboration (Co.Co.Co.), starting as soon as possible, initial duration one year with potential renewal.
Gross annual salary range: €28,000–€40,000, determined by experience and skills.
Welfare package of €2,000 per year.
Flexible working hours per internal policies.
Assistance with the immigration process, if required.
