WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Scientific Dissemination and Communication Specialist capable of effectively liaising with researchers, project managers, institutional staff, and external partners. The selected candidate will support the planning and implementation of dissemination, communication and community engagement activities across European (including Horizon Europe) and national research projects, ensuring consistency with project objectives, timelines, and funding visibility requirements.

ROLE
The Scientific Dissemination and Communication Specialist reports to the Project Coordinator and ADIC director. The role is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and implementation of dissemination, communication and community engagement activities across European and national research projects in close coordination with CMCC’s Communication Office. It includes coordinating communication outputs and materials, supporting stakeholder engagement, contributing to public deliverables and reports, and ensuring project visibility in line with funding, communication and branding requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The planning and coordination of dissemination and communication activities in line with project objectives, work plans and funding requirements.
- The development, updating and routine management of project communication tools and channels, including project websites and online platforms.
- The preparation, publication and updating of content for project websites and other online communication channels (e.g. news, events, project outputs).
- The management of project social media presence and online communication activities, ensuring regular updates and coherence with project communication strategies.
- The preparation of basic visual and graphic communication materials (e.g. presentations, factsheets, social media visuals), in line with project branding and visibility guidelines.
- The coordination of internal inputs from project partners and work package leaders to ensure coherent and timely dissemination of project activities and results.
- The support to stakeholder mapping and engagement activities, including the organisation and communication of project events, workshops and meetings.
- The contribution to the preparation of public deliverables, reports and documentation related to dissemination and communication activities.
- The monitoring and documentation of dissemination and communication activities, including collection of indicators and evidence required for reporting purposes.
- Ensuring compliance with communication, visibility and branding requirements of European and national funding programmes.
- Supporting CMCC in its dissemination and communication activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in communication, communication science, international relations, social sciences, environmental sciences, digital media or a related field. A PhD in a relevant discipline is considered an asset but is not required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in dissemination, communication, outreach or project support activities, preferably within European and/or national research projects.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting or implementing communication and dissemination activities in a research, academic or institutional context.
- Experience in managing and updating project websites and online communication channels, including social media platforms, in a professional or project‑based environment.
- Ability to prepare clear and effective written and visual communication materials for different audiences.
- Very good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Italian will be considered an asset.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- The opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
- The Managers will be based in Lecce at CMCC headquarters.
- The appointment period will be 12 months starting as soon as possible, renewable pending positive evaluation, with a gross annual salary range based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centres in Europe.
