Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers : Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.

About Scientifc Operations

The Scientific Operations organization sits at the interface between Research and Administration and drives the success of Human Technopole in areas as technology excellence, innovation, training and collaborations.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Shape HT’s IP and tech transfer strategy
• Identify internal opportunities and manage IP protection and valorisation
• Act as main contact point for IP with internal partners and external legal collaborators

• Team Development & Strategic Vision (in collaboration with the CSOO)
• Lead and develop the Tech Transfer team, setting priorities and ensuring alignment with institutional goals
• Define and implement the Tech Transfer Office roadmap in line with institutional and national priorities

Technology Transfer Culture

• Promote IP awareness and tech transfer practices across HT.
• Support researchers on ownership, compliance, and joint rights issues.
• Track innovation trends and propose relevant solutions.

Job Requirements

Essential requirements

On the closing date for online applications, the candidate must fulfil all the following conditions :

• Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, or equivalent) in life sciences, biotechnology, or related field.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in technology transfer, intellectual property management, or research commercialization.
• Proven expertise in addressing IP and contractual issues within the Italian academic and research ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of patent law and research contracts in Italy and internationally.
• Demonstrated ability to build networks and manage high-level collaborations.
• Fluency both in English and Italian.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in an international environment
• Have a strong network in innovation and venture capital both in Italy and abroad

Organisational And Social Skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with capacity to establish and grow a new office.
