Technical Project Lead

Hartmann Young is partnered with an innovative spin-out from the University of Milan, who are revolutionising the way we measure gluten content in our food. They are looking to add a Technical Project Lead to their team, to work alongside the CEO and CSO in bringing the device to market.

The role

The Project Lead is responsible for ensuring project feasibility in collaboration with the Management team, whilst leading the project team and key external stakeholders essential to its success.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define the project scope and feasibility , including the organisational problem it addresses and its implementation phases.
• Plan resources and budgeting , identifying required investments and aligning with available budgets.
• Coordinate and lead project teams , ensuring clear roles, communication, and progress tracking.
• Engage stakeholders , negotiating objectives, methods, and resource needs with management and key actors.
• Drive project execution and outcomes , making informed decisions, monitoring progress, and ensuring goals are met.

The person

Essential:

• Academic background in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry to Masters or PhD level.
• Knowledge of IVD analytical techniques such as ELISA, PCR, Spectrometry, Clinical Chemistry or Immunohistochemistry.
• A working knowledge of simulation methodologies / tools (e.g. MATLAB).
• Expertise in biosensors / electrochemistry.
• Fluency in both Italian and English.

Desirable:

• Fluency in French would be advantageous.
• Expertise in data analytics, modelling and statistics strongly preferred.
