THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join WiseEnergy’s Commercial & ESG team to strengthen our service delivery to pre-construction sites and refine our operational asset management services and systems.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Analyst to expand our existing Ready to Build (RtB) and pre-construction capabilities and to support operational asset management services to a variety of asset owners, including NextEnergy, with plants located in Italy. This role will also give us exposure to the agrivoltaic and develop our expertise in this exciting new area. We expect significant growth in RtB, pre-construction services and agrivoltaics development/operations over the coming years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This will be an integral role in the WiseEnergy team, including:

• Regulatory management between the SPV and/or Company’s interface with respective authorities including GSE, ARERA, TERNA, e-distribuzione and Agenzia delle Dogane (Dichiarazione di Consumo, Registri di Misure) and other regulators in respect of usual and extraordinary communications, audits and inspections.
• Regulatory and compliance practices relating to assets under construction (RtB activities and pre- Commercial Operations Date).
• Developing specialist knowledge of the regulatory and contractual aspects relating to agrivoltaic plants to support commissioning and operational management.
• Contract management: renewals, tendering to optimise operating costs, issuing supplier notices as required and compliance with obligations related to individual solar farm companies (contracts incl. SPA, Lease, PPA, O&M, EPC, etc). Understanding of lender requirements associated with contracts as well as stakeholder management of other interested parties.
• Supporting the management of regulatory audits, as required.
• Monthly, quarterly and annual client reporting .
• Preparation of annual revenue and operating costs budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, social, governance (ESG) and community relations obligations and requirements.
• Management of land agreements and relationships with landlords
• Asset onboarding: development and population of relevant information on to the company’s in-house asset management platform (AMP), mapping contracts and other asset information as required.
• Commercial projects
• Ad hoc domestic travel in Italy, as required.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Time management & prioritization skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.
• Excellent communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging.
• Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description.
• Intellectual Curiosity – Technical Management is a broad and nuanced field, and we are looking for someone who is truly interested in our profession and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas to the team.
• IT Literacy - you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data (you should have at least intermediate-level Excel).
• Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters!
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Educated to degree level (engineering, economics, science & law are relevant backgrounds)
• Significant regulatory and contract knowledge and experience
• Minimum of 5-6 years experience in renewable energy space (preferably solar)
• Fluent in Italian and business-level English
• The right to work in Italy.
