JOB OVERVIEW:

Britoil Offshore Services SRL (“BOS”) is located in Genoa and is part of Britoil’s Group. BOS excels in the provision of diverse services and solutions for key offshore-support needs, including platform supply, anchor handling tug supply, walk to work and subsea support. In addition, BOS offers a wide range of complementary offshore services, such as seismic/survey support, maintenance, engineering and scientific support. BOS endeavors to provide customers with excellent technical performance of vessels, as well as a close relationship from a commercial and operational perspective. BOS manages a fleet of >20 Offshore Supply Vessels operating in the Mediterranean Sea, Africa, Red Sea and North Sea.

The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and finance function within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant (permanent), preferably with experience in the shipping & logistics industry. In this function, you are responsible for the following tasks:

• Update client information.
• Manage timely collation of billing information- on-hire and off-hire timings and bunker consumption and maintenance days.
• Issue sales invoices, debit notes and credit notes.
• To accrue for unbilled revenue, unearned revenue and Withholding Tax
• To analyze the revenue variances between Actual vs Forecast
• Liaise with clients and resolve billing queries from clients and billing disputes with clients.
• Generate customers’ statements of accounts and prepare weekly dispute lists with clients
• Follow up with clients on late payments
• Any other duties as instructed by the management.

You work in the Accounting Team and hierarchically report to the Accounts Receivables Manager.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• General Ledger and AP team
• Commercial and Operations team
• Customers

EDUCATION, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCE

Our preferred candidate has:

• A relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (e.g. finance or equivalent)
• At least three years of relevant accounting and finance experience
• Meticulous and careful, hardworking and able to meet tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Italian are essential
