Renewable Energy Consultant (Solar and Storage) - Italy
Location: Milan, Lombardy, Italy .
Responsibilities
- Manage responsibilities in the origination and energy management activities of Peridot Solar’s in Italy and UK with focus on utility and Corporate PPAs and other offtake arrangements for Solar, BESS and hybrid projects.
- Originate, develop, negotiate, and execute structuredmedium- and long-term solar PPAs, elaborating and optimizing power sales strategies for the market-parity pipeline of PV and BESS projects.
- Monitor, assess, and provide strategic input on tender and offtake mechanisms such as MACSE, FERX, Energy Release or others, ensuring the company’s positioning and readiness to participate effectively.
- Coordinate workstreams with other departments using internal financial models, taking ownership of market assumptions; cooperate with the internal legal and financial department in the definition and negotiation of offtake agreements.
- Manage day-to-day administrative and regulatory issues related to executed agreements and adapt to maintain effectiveness for Peridot.
- Develop market analyses for European energy markets, including managing forecasting models and price trends
- Monitoring and evaluating changes in power market regulation and the regulatory framework and policies at national and EU level.
- Effectively and professionally manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including strategic business partners, development or JV partners, local communities, advisors, etc.
- Drive the advancement of each project opportunity by leading all necessary steps in the process (both internal and external).
- Keep fully informed on key market developments, regulatory updates, and industry news/events in order to quickly identify business opportunities and risks.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in PV/renewables sector focusing on origination, sales & marketing and energy trading activities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the European power market including experience in origination and negotiation of medium and long term, bankable Corporate PPAs.
- Understanding of how to assess BESS revenue stacks and develop commercial solutions for standalone and hybrid BESS assets.
- Specialized master’s degree or additional training on renewables / solar PV as a plus.
- Multidisciplinary background (technical, finance, accounting, commercial, legal…),
- Strong understanding of and view on the main European power markets in particular on fundamentals, market players, interconnections, etc.,
- High predisposition to multi-task working and flexibility for dynamic needs,
- Strong analytical and process management skills,
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work autonomously,
- Self-driven and proactive attitude with initiative to take on challenges,
- Excellent teamwork, communication and intercultural skills,
- Structured, ordered and accurate working standards,
- Excellent use of MS Office tools.
