PLC Software Engineer (F/M)

Location: Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Mission

As part of the development of our entity Abylsen Italy, specialized in IT, Transport (automotive, aeronautics, defense, space and rail), Heavy Industry (metallurgy, steel plant) and Energy, we are looking for a PLC Software Engineer - Automation sector to integrate our team of consultants and bring your expertise on all our projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement PLC software for both production systems and R&D projects.
• Configure and customize PLC software on machines supplied to System Logistics customers.
• Participate in the development of new PLC software modules and programs for innovative R&D projects.
• Coordinate with the Software Manager and the rest of the team to address issues and develop new functionalities and the Electrical and Mechanical Teams to review layouts and wiring diagrams and solve potential issues.
• Install and test developed programs during system commissioning, in coordination with the Site Manager and Software Manager.

Technical skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in heavy industry or a related sector.
• Excellent knowledge of Siemens PLC programming (SCL; AWL is a plus).
• Excellent knowledge of Rockwell PLC programming .
• Solid understanding of the C programming language .
• Strong experience in motion control systems .
• Good knowledge of safety programming (Safe) .
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols .
