E‑Dea Transport Technology, IT leader in the ferry industry, is looking for an Oracle Cloud System Engineer to join its growing team.
Job description
The successful candidate will become part of the Infrastructure & Managed Service Unit and will be responsible for the infrastructure software that powers E‑Dea products.
Location & working hours
100 % remote
Full‑time contract with an on‑call rotation for after‑hours incidents
Mission
You will manage the entire OCI stack for Production, Test and Disaster Recovery, working closely with Application Support to guarantee performance, security and availability end‑to‑end.
Key responsibilities
Set up Test and Production environments in multiple OCI regions
Design and configure High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures
Design, implement and harden network & security (VCN, subnets, load balancers, WAF, IAM)
Manage performance of E‑Dea products in cloud (OCI, AWS) and on‑premise
Provide DBA services for Oracle DB (Autonomous DB and on‑prem) and MySQL: backup, recovery, patching, tuning, Data Guard/replication, capacity planning
Administer and optimise Oracle WebLogic (OCI & on‑prem) plus other web/app servers, Jasper and DevOps pipelines
Benchmark, tune and document cloud and on‑prem architectures, including capacity planning
Implement continuous monitoring with RDBMS & APM tools (like New Relic, Datadog)
Define KPIs, analyse trends and produce technical reports (Confluence/Jira)
Handle performance‑related incident tickets together with the Support & Maintenance team
Automate provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, OCI Resource Manager and Bash/Python scripts
Keep the technology stack current by scouting and evaluating new versions and middleware
Must‑have requirements
Strong experience configuring and operating Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Significant experience administering Oracle WebLogic and Tomcat Application Servers
Expert of Kubernetes architecture configuration and maintenance
Solid DBA experience with Oracle Database (backup, recovery, tuning, patching)
Solid experience in configuring Identity & Access Management Tools (like Keycloak)
Proven ability to monitor application and database performance
Hands‑on expertise in security configuration and vulnerability checks
Strong knowledge of RDBMS monitoring & APM tools (Oracle OCM, New Relic, DataDog or similar)
Experience setting up and managing multi‑cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure)
Deep understanding of networking and server architectures; capacity‑planning skills
Advanced Unix/Linux skills plus Bash or Python scripting
Good written and spoken English (+C1)
Nice to have
Certifications: OCI Architect/Professional, Autonomous DB Specialist, AWS/Azure equivalents
Experience with OCI Kubernetes Engine (OKE), Docker, RabbitMQ, JasperServer, Keycloak
Knowledge of security standards (CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001) and DevSecOps practices
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (OCI DevOps, Jenkins)
Soft skills
