The Symani Surgical System provides the surgeon with the capability to operate on a small scale with ease and precision, thanks to the Symani platform and a variety of Instrument types. We are looking for a passionate NPI Instrument Engineer to sustain NPI future projects and guarantee proper support to meet business critical deadlines. The NPI Instrument Engineer will help our Opertations team to plan all the activities in order to anticipate risks connected to manufacturing processes and implement design to manufacturing and design to process changes at early stage. Are you ready to make a significant impact in our Operations Team? Role Purpose: Collaborate with PM to coordinate Operations resources in NPI projects. Collaborate with R&D and Process Engineers to propose and coordinate New Product design changes in NPI process to meet Manufacturing needs and guarantee production quality and throughput. Propose and develop mitigation strategies for risks identified in process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA). Propose and coordinate New Product design changes in NPI process to meet Manufacturing needs and guarantee production quality and throughput. Develop Test Protocols and related Equipment to measure manufacturing parts reliability, End-of-Life (EOL), and execute quality investigation campaigns. Review and update DHF and DMR for a smooth transfer to MFG. Work with Operations Quality on Production Change Orders to maintain updated Items and Documents on Arena PLM. Participate to Problem Solving processes (A3 DMAIC) to solve issues. Job Requirements: At least 3 year experience on similar roles. Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Degree. Able to make and review complex mech Drawings calculating tolerances chain on mating parts or joint. Expert in mechanical design. Experience with CAD SW (Solidworks preferred). Experience in manufacturing process. Lean Manufacturing Principles knowledge and application in manufacturing. Medical Quality System knowledge (e.g. GMP). INSTRUMENT Specific Requirements: Wire EDM fabrication Plastic Molding and welding Additive mfg (3D Print) Surface Treatment Small parts inspection Medical Parts cleaning or sterilization methods About MMI MMI is dedicated to improving reconstructive options for surgeons and patients and has developed the first teleoperated robotic platform for open microsurgery.
