Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring all functional areas operate smoothly.
  • Implement operational plans and ensure adherence to established protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and support functional area managers (SEC, FNB, CNW, TEC, VDO).
  • Deploy and manage staff and volunteers to fulfil operational roles.
  • Respond to and resolve operational issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to events, and escalating when necessary.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided and ensure they meet the standards set by the MICO26 Organizing Committee.
  • Organise and deliver daily briefings with venue staff and functional area leads to review the day's event schedule, operational priorities and any updates or changes.
  • Coordinate external visits during Games Time by planning drop-offs, internal guest flows, events and other FA's involvement.
  • Submit daily reports to the Main Media Centre Venue Manager.
  • Assist staff and volunteer management, including training delivery, scheduling and on-site coordination.
  • Provide detailed reports and debriefs post‑event, documenting lessons learned and key takeaways for future events.

Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to follow through on issues and actions.
  • Ability to deliver to high standards under pressure, maintaining calm, proactive behaviour and optimistic attitude.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in venue management and operations at international sports events, preferably previous Olympic Games.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Good understanding of the needs of media working at major international sport events.
  • Fluency in English is imperative; Italian is an advantage.
  • IT‑experienced, knowledge of usual office software and internet; Smartsheet is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
