Business Unit

The Divisione Business Assurance di TÜV Italia seeks a resource to be inserted in the Business Unit Environmental Sustainability .

Role Overview

The figure will contribute to the development and implementation of new environmental schemes and update existing ones such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) , product and organizational carbon footprint, water footprint, and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) . The selected person will collaborate with colleagues and references in TÜV offices worldwide, providing support in initiating and managing sustainability projects in the various involved countries.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and provide technical support in verification activities related to carbon footprint studies (ISO 14064, ISO 14067) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), ensuring compliance with the main international standards and guidelines of the Programme Operator EPD International and EPDItaly.
  • Manage and coordinate sustainability projects and interface with clients and stakeholders, ensuring high quality, regulatory compliance, and a proactive continuous improvement approach.

Qualifications

  • Preferable Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Materials Science or related field. An advanced degree or specialization certificates in LCA/EPD/GHG are a plus.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in environmental sustainability, preferably gained with consulting firms.
  • Knowledge of the following international norms and standards:
    • ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-3, ISO 14065, ISO 14067, IAF MD 6
    • ISO 14020, ISO 14025, EN 15804
    • ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO/TS 14071 (LCA and critical review processes)
    • ISO 14066 (data verification and technical competence for EPD)
    • ISO 19011 (audit principles and techniques)
  • Operational knowledge of the EPD system, including the General Programme Instruction (GPI) of EPD International and the EPDItaly regulations. Familiarity with Accredia reference circulars and knowledge of the environmental regulatory framework applicable to major industrial sectors is a plus.
  • Experience using LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, Umberto) and environmental data management for drafting or verifying LCA studies and carbon footprints.
  • Ability to conduct audits and technical verifications independently, with excellent relational and organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical attitude.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of additional languages (even non‑European) is an advantage.
  • A certificate of successful participation in recognized GHG Verifier courses (minimum 24 hours) and/or Auditor/Lead Auditor of Management Systems is a plus.
  • Additional qualification as Auditor/Lead Auditor (A/LA) in one or more system or product standards (e.g., ISO 14001, EMAS) will be preferred.
