Job Description:

Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of procurement for a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry? We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Direct Procurement Senior Category Manager to join our Global Procurement Team.

The position:

He/she will support the Head of Direct Procurement in managing procurement activities related to direct goods and services within Alfasigma. This role involves developing and implementing supplier and category strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing relationships, and ensuring cost-effective processes. The Senior Category Manager collaborates with various departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Category and Supplier Strategy:
    • Develop and implement procurement plans for direct goods and services.
    • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Identify potential suppliers, evaluate them, and negotiate contracts.
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and timely deliveries.
    • Monitor supplier performance and address issues proactively.
  2. Cost Management:
    • Negotiate favorable terms to optimize costs.
    • Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs.
    • Communicate procurement policies clearly to ensure compliance.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and policies.
    • Mitigate procurement-related risks in the supply chain.
  5. Contract Management:
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
    • Monitor and renew contracts as needed.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze procurement data for trends and performance metrics.
    • Use insights to improve procurement processes.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields, proven procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, knowledge of procurement practices, excellent communication and analytical skills, proficiency in procurement software, and leadership qualities. Experience in the pharma industry and API knowledge are pluses.
