We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Supervisor with a specialization in excavation to join our team for a significant drainage project in Maputo, Mozambique .

Responsabilities:

As the Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all excavation-related activities on site, ensuring they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage excavation teams, subcontractors, and equipment operators, ensuring adherence to work plans and productivity targets.
• Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site, conducting regular inspections and promoting a safety-first culture, particularly concerning excavation risks (e.g., trenching, shoring, spoil management).
• Provide expert guidance on excavation techniques, methodologies, and equipment selection. Ensure correct interpretation of drawings, specifications, and survey data related to earthworks.
• Monitor and inspect excavation works to ensure quality standards are met, including correct depths, widths, slopes, and compaction.
• Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials for excavation activities.
• Track daily progress of excavation works, identify potential delays, and report on performance to the Project Manager.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other relevant project documentation.

Competences:

• Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor or similar role on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, with a significant focus on excavation works (drainage, pipelines, foundations, etc.) .
• In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, shoring systems, dewatering, and ground conditions.
• Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and best practices related to earthmoving and trenching.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and topographical maps.

Qualifications:

• Civil Diploma or Degree,
• 7 years of experience in excavation works supervision.
