Job Description
Category Buyer activities: Electrictiy units (sensors and actuators) of the Attitude Orbit Control System, power systems, power distribution systems for satellites, and equipment of the Data Handling Subsystem. The approach is Build‑to‑Specification.
- Negotiate, write, implement and follow the contract with suppliers as per Thales Alenia Space terms and conditions or the customer contract flow.
- Analyse business needs and challenges related to the contract perimeter.
- Manage the acquisition process in accordance with the product strategy (Multi‑Annual Supplier Strategy) until contract signature or purchase order issuance.
- Ensure fair competition through appropriate RFIs and Request For Proposals.
- Contribute to global category strategies for short, medium, and long term.
- Monitor market trends, innovation, and supplier performance.
- Manage bids and programs PVET (Evaluation/selection/negotiation) process and Tender Evaluation Board.
- Organise competitions, assess and select the best supplier for its category.
- Apply the category strategy at JV level, define and apply roadmap and related actions.
- Ensure accreditation of supplier contracts, maintain compliance with international/national laws and Thales regulations.
- Coordinate hand‑over with execution and performance manager, manage claim processes, and maintain contract changes and maintenance.
- Contribute to supplier performance assessment and business reviews.
Profile
Essential
- Master in engineering (technical background).
- Procurement experience within an international context.
- Experience in direct purchasing.
- Experience in contract management.
- Excellent relationship skills with project teams and company structures.
- Fluent English.
- Able to work in a global procurement environment.

- Curious with willingness to improve/develop.
- Technical and commercial background gained in companies or general knowledge in materials and processes.
- Strong team‑work predisposition and availability for short‑term trips (2‑3 days max).
- Organizational, priority management and progress control skills.

- Ability to manage changes in context, tasks, and workloads.
- Knowledge of main regulations and certifications applicable in the space sector.
- Experience in evaluating offers/proposals and KPI.
- Supplier management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office application systems.
