AI Agent Engineer

We’re supporting a fast-growing tech company on the search for an AI Agent Engineer to join their expanding team in Milan.

They’re building next-generation AI solutions that power enterprise agents across chat, voice, email and are now strengthening their Italian engineering hub.

What you’ll do

• Design prompts and implement functions that guide AI agents across multiple channels (voice, chat, email)
• Integrate with customer APIs, databases, and internal tools so agents can perform real tasks
• Test with live data, measure performance, and fine-tune for accuracy and reliability
• Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, demo solutions, and iterate quickly
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver production-ready solutions
• Contribute to tooling, processes, and documentation that support scalable AI development

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field
• Fluent Italian and English (spoken and written)
• Experience in consultancy environments or similar fast-paced settings
• Practical experience with Generative AI and building AI components (language agnostic: JS, Python, Go, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with APIs, backend logic, and system integrations
• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for applied AI
• Experience with LLMs or conversational AI is a strong plus

Offer

• Contract: Full-time, permanent (CCNL Commercio)
• Location: Hybrid - Milan (3 days/week on-site)
• Junior (up to ~2 years exp): €35K/€42K
• Mid-level (2/4 years exp): up to ~€55K, depending on skills and scope
• Extras: MBO
